Barbara S. Williams has exclusively practiced personal injury law for over 28 years, dating back to 1988 when she formed the Leesburg law firm of Burnett & Williams. In early 2006, Barbara established her own personal injury law firm with offices in Leesburg and Winchester, and currently serves clients throughout Loudoun County, Frederick County, Fairfax and the Northern Virginia area. Throughout her career, Barbara has represented clients in all types of personal injury cases, from small to complex. She has represented families and their loved ones injured or killed by drunk drivers, tractor-trailers and car crashes, particularly along the Interstate 81 corridor. She also handles complex medical malpractice cases involving laparoscopic surgery, brain trauma, surgical errors, prescription errors, and gynecological and abdominal injuries. Barbara zealously represents her clients and is a seasoned trial lawyer with numerous verdicts and settlements won for her clients. She is proud and considered it an honor to serve as the President of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association in 2013/2014. Every case is prepared for trial. However, when the insurance company is willing to compromise a case, Barbara has established a reputation amongst her peers and the insurance industry for guiding clients in the resolution of complex accident and injury cases drawing upon her negotiation skills. Barbara’s 26 years of experience negotiating with insurance companies helped build those skills, and she strategically positions her clients when a more collaborative approach is the best strategy for their case. On a compassionate note, Barbara has an acute understanding of the fear and uncertainty that her clients and their families experience after a catastrophic car crash or a life-changing surgical complication. Clients trust her to manage their legal case from start to finish, so they can focus on their physical and emotional recovery. Barbara and her entire team are committed to their clients’ healing and provide peace of mind assuring clients they can leave the legal strategy to them. Barbara is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States District Courts (Eastern and Western Divisions) of Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1979, and completed the Virginia State Bar’s Law Reader/Study Under An Attorney Program in 1988. Passing the bar at her first sitting, Barbara has been licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 1988. |
