Plaintiff was present on hunting land doing maintenance to the grounds and property for the Defendant. Plaintiff was about 25 feet above the ground in a tree stand that needed some branches removed from the platform. The ladder up to the tree stand was homemade and was unable to withstand the climb our client needed to take down from up in the tree. A ladder rung disconnected from the tree it was adhered to causing Plaintiff to fall. Plaintiff suffered extensive injuries that left him tetraplegic and wheelchair bound with a total of $450,343.85 in medical bills. It was concluded that the Plaintiff would also accrue future treatment totaling an estimated $5,787,450.54 in future medical expenses. Settlement was reached for an outcome of $1,500,00.00 in favor of our client.
