Barbara is the founder of the firm and the driving force behind our client-first approach. From the very beginning, her vision was simple: treat every client with care, prepare every case as if it will go to trial, and never lose sight of the human story behind the legal claim. The firm’s reputation for thorough preparation, thoughtful advocacy, and genuine client focus is a direct outgrowth of that vision.
A seasoned trial lawyer with more than 30 years of experience, Barbara has secured many significant verdicts and settlements. She approaches each case with fresh eyes, understanding that no two clients or circumstances are the same. Her work is defined by careful preparation, strategic judgment, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is best for the client.
Barbara is known for preparing every case for trial. She understands the delays, the denials, and the pressure points that insurance companies frequently utilize, and she positions her clients accordingly. At the same time, when a fair and reasonable resolution is possible, her deep experience working with and studying insurance practices allows her to pursue collaborative solutions without ever compromising her clients’ interests.
At the heart of Barbara’s practice is her compassion for the people she serves. She has a clear understanding of the fear and uncertainty families face after a catastrophic accident or life-altering medical event. She built our firm to be a steady, reassuring presence for clients during those moments, giving them confidence that their legal matters are in capable and caring hands.
Over the course of her career, Barbara has handled a wide range of personal injury cases, from smaller matters to the most complex and catastrophic claims. She has represented individuals and families affected by drunk driving, tractor-trailer crashes, and serious motor vehicle accidents, including many cases arising along the Interstate 81 corridor.
Today, Barbara serves as Of Counsel to WilliamsFord. While retired from the full-time practice of law, she remains closely connected to the firm she founded. She continues to provide guidance to the attorneys, such as by helping formulate case strategy, and she is available to consult with clients when her experience and perspective can make a difference.
Barbara is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.
